谢忠建（Xie, Zhongjian)，男，出生于1962年11月22日，博士，教授，博士生导师，毕业于湖南医科大学。现任中南大学湘雅二医院代谢内分泌研究所副所长，兼任湖南医学会内分泌学分会副主任委员及骨矿盐疾病学组组长。美国旧金山加州大学（UCSF）VA医学中心首席研究员及副教授。1983年获湖南医学院医学系学士学位；1990年获湖南医学院内科临床博士学位；1990年至1993年在湖南医学院第二附属医院内科任主治医师；1993年至1995年在丹麦临床与基础医学中心从事博士后研究，1994年获国骨代谢学会“青年科学家奖”，是丹麦该研究中心成立以来首位获得此类奖项的研究人员；1995年至1998年在美国加州大学从事博士后研究，2000获得美国皮肤研究学会“Kligman 奖”。自2001年以来，在美国加州大学旧金山VA医学中心内分泌科担任首席研究员Principal Investigator（PI)，领导自己的研究实验室团队，获得多项美国政府研究基金，研究领域是上皮内分泌与上皮肿瘤，研究方向是钙和维生素D与上皮细胞分化机制，EGF受体信息传导与上皮肿瘤发病机制。曾受国际期刊特邀撰写综述，多次受邀担任过国际重要学术会议特邀演讲者和分会主席。教学方面，曾指导多名生物医学本科生、硕士生、博士生及博士后，曾经在旧金山加州大学负责内分泌专科医师培训工作以及学术会议组织工作。
