1985年毕业于南开大学化学系，获得学士学位，1988年在南开大学获得硕士学位。2002年毕业于日本东京大学化学系，获得理学博士学位，博士论文为“二茂铁及其衍生物的自组装单分子膜的创制以及它们的物理和化学机能”。2002-2004年作为神奈川县科学技术厅研究员在日本的庆应大学做博士后研究，并在这期间，主要从事偶氮甲基苯为基元的树状化合物的合成与功能、及纳米粒子的合成与修饰的研究。2004-2006年分别在国际基盘材料研究所和HRS Engineering Co. LTD公司从事新型纳米材料和发光材料的研发。2007年至现在，北京师范大学副教授，从事纳米功能材料和发光材料的研发。中国化学学会会员，日本化学学会会员，中国化学会教育委员会理事。

在北师大先后任课本科生的“普通化学原理”、“基础化学实验I”、“基础化学实验II”、“综合设计实验”、“化学与生活”、“高等无机化学”，以及研究生的“循环伏安法及其应用”。

作为命题组长，参加了2009年、10年、12年、以及13年的高考北京卷理综化学试卷的命题工作。
