主要讲授《构造地质学》、《显微构造地质学》等课程，2007年至今以来一直在秭归教学基地进行实践教学的工作。目前，指导硕士研究生6名，联合指导博士研究生2名。负责或参加教学研究项目：1．主持中国地质大学（武汉）地球科学学院实验教学项目《显微构造地质实验教学建设》；2．参加中国地质大学（武汉）项目《长江三峡库区地质灾害研究优势学科创新平台》下属子课题“地质灾害陈列室建设”，负责地层、岩石、构造资料收集、图片与展板文字说明、模型设计等工作。出版教材、教学论文/著作：三峡秭归野外地质实践教学中若干问题的思考（彭松柏，2008，地球科学-中国地质大学学报（社会科学版增刊））。
主要研究方向包括前寒武纪蛇绿岩及大地构造、显微构造地质、区域成矿构造及成矿预测。主持及参加的国家自然基金、国家及省部级科研项目18项，其中主持国家自然科学基金（青年）项目3项，参加国家重点基金项目1项（排名第二）；主持省部级科研项目8项。在国内外核心期刊上已发表论文49篇（第一作者25篇），其中第一作者、通讯作者SCI、EI论文7篇。合作出版专著4部。主要论文和专著：
