主要从事金属材料表面修饰及生物活化改性的研究。研究锆、钛表层纳米晶及氧化物纳米管的形成机制及性能。采用机械研磨法(SMAT)在纯锆、纯钛表面制备出一定厚度的、具有梯度结构的纳米结晶表层,采用阳极氧化法分别在纳米结晶和微米结晶锆、钛表面制备了ZrO2、TiO2纳米管层;探讨了锆、钛表层纳米化的机制及其对ZrO2、TiO2纳米管形成与生长的影响,研究了纳米结晶锆、钛表层与ZrO2、TiO2纳米管层的力学和生物学性能及其与纳米结构之间的关系,采用离子沉降法在锆基体表面得到强结合的ZrO2纳米管,分析了界面结合机制。近几年负责科研项目3项(国家自然科学基金、教育部博士点(新教工)基金、西安交通大学基本科研业务费“学科综合交叉类科研项目”各一项),参与国家自然基金面上项目一项(骨干成员。发表文章10篇,SCI收录10篇,其中以第一作者发表SCI论文7篇。2009年获陕西省科学技术二等奖(第五获奖人)。同时,承担本科生教学工作,主讲课程:材料腐蚀基础,生态环境材料;加入精品课程“工程材料”基础课程组。
