王爱国，男，医学博士，教授，博士生导师，教育部新世纪优秀人才，现任劳动卫生与环境卫生学系副主任，主持环境卫生学的教学工作。1987年毕业于湖南医科大学卫生系，1992年在原同济医科大学获硕士学位，1999年在德国Ulm大学获博士学位。兼任中华医学会地方病学分会委员、中国地方病学杂志编委等。自参加工作以来一直从事环境卫生学的教学和科研工作，承担本科生《环境卫生学》和《预防医学》等必修课以及《环境优生学》、《微量元素与健康》、《环境污染与公共卫生事件》等选修课的教学工作。主要研究方向为环境重要化学污染物的毒作用机制及其健康危害。主持和参加包括国家自然科学基金重大、重点和面上项目、973国家重点基础研究规划项目和国家科技攻关计划在内的科学研究工作。以第一作者或通讯作者发表科研论文60余篇，其中分别在Toxicol Sci、Neurotoxicology、Toxicol Lett和Mutat Res等国外杂志上发表SCI收录论文20余篇，是Toxicol Sci、Toxicology、Toxicol Lett、Nurotoxicology等国际杂志的审稿人。2011年获教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖自然科学二等奖（第一完成人）。参编全国高等学校教材《生物材料检验》（副主编）、教育部面向21世纪课程教材《微量元素与健康》（副主编）、全国高等学校教材《环境卫生学》（第7版，编委）、环境卫生学大型参考书《现代环境卫生学》（第2版，编委兼学术秘书）等多部教材。
