刘秀群，男，1975年7月出生于湖北房县，博士，副教授，硕士生导师。1999年和2002年在华中农业大学分别获得林学学士学位和观赏园艺学硕士学位，2005年在中国科学院植物研究所获得植物学博士学位。期间（2005.4—2005.6），曾在泰国Suranaree
University of Technology进行合作研究。2005—2007年在武汉大学生命科学学院
